Cowboy doll Woody is Andy's favourite toy, and hence got the license of being the leader of all the other toys. But his world is suddenly turned upside down when Andy gets a Buzz Lightyear action toy for his birthday. Suddenly, Woody finds himself in danger of being replaced by Buzz. Worse yet, Buzz doesn't know he's a toy. He thinks he's the real Buzz Lightyear. The two toys get lost a couple of days before Andy moves. They must find a way to get back to Andy before he moves without them, but they will have to pass through a ruthless toy killer, Sid Phillips.
